Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License (PPCDL) Course

This license is required for driving a motor/ engine powered or jet-propelled pleasure craft (with SZ or SZH license prefixes) that are less than 24metres in length within Singapore port limits.

Participants are to attend a 2.5-day theory and practical course held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, and pass the theory and practical test conducted by SMA Singapore Polytechnic in order to obtain the license from Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Course Information

This course consists of a 2-day theory lesson and a 0.5-day practical lesson, both of which will be conducted at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. Trainees are required to attend both theory and practical lesson to obtain the Certificate of Attendance. This certificate is required prior to booking the theory and practical test with Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA). A minimum of 5 trainees are required for the course to commence. The course is also available in Malay and Chinese upon request.

  • Step 1: When registering for the course, choose your preferred theory lesson dates from the available course schedule.
  • Step 2: After completing the 2-day theory lesson, choose your preferred practical lesson date from the available course schedule.
  • Step 3: Receive the Certificate of Attendance once you have completed both theory and practical lessons.
  • Step 4: With the Certificate of Attendance, go to a certified medical practioner to complete the eyesight medical report.
  • Step 5: Once you have received the eyesight medical report, book your theory test here. The test will be conducted at Singapore Polytechnic and will take roughly 60-minutes.
  • Step 6: After passing your theory test, book your practical test here. The practical test will be conducted by Singapore Martime Academy at Singapore Polytechnic’s marina, and will take roughly 120-minutes.

 

Please note that you are required to bring the following documents for the tests:

  1. Identification document (NRIC or Passport)
  2. Certificate of Attendance
  3. Eyesight Medical Report (form)
  4. Theory Test Result Slip*

Practical Lesson

DATE: Wednesday or Sunday
TIME: 9am – 3.30pm
The duration will depend on the total number of trainees, with the latest finish time being 3.30pm.
DRESS CODE: Comfortable wear, slippers are not permitted

Terms and Conditions
  • Course fees are to be made directly to The Boat Shop Asia (TBSA).
  • Member’s birthday discount is non-transferrable.
  • A confirmation email will be sent by TBSA three days before course commencement once the course dates have been confirmed. Should your preferred course dates be cancelled, we seek your kind understanding to participate in the next available course dates.
  • There will be no refund for no-show, cancellation, change of course dates requested by the trainee, except for cancellation and changes made by TBSA.
  • The course will only commence with a minimum of 5 trainees and the maximum class size is 10.
  • ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove and TBSA will not be liable for any damage, injury, or loss of life during the conduct of course, or while the trainee is on the premises.
