Singapore Yachting Festival 2023 Highlights

May 1, 2023

The curtains have closed on the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) 2023 leaving the boating fraternity in high spirits after four days of exuberant networking, yacht parties and boat premieres from Fairline, Ferretti, Bluegame, Lagoon, Leopard, Princess, Iliad and more.

ONE°15 Marina wishes to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Wade Pearce of Singapore Marine Guide for a fantastic show, our Members, boaters, sponsors, exhibitors, and to all the brands that were represented. Thank you for making the show, one less ordinary.

The SYF opened with welcome addresses from Wade Pearce and Arthur Tay who provided insights on the yachting trends in Southeast Asia, with particular reference to yacht buying, chartering and related services. Arthur shared that the desire for the yachting lifestyle remains intact post pandemic and Wade expressed confidence that yachting can be a part of everyone’s lifestyle through an inclusive show format.

Following the welcome speeches, guests proceeded to the marina for the ribbon-cutting before heading to the festival grounds for a quick tour.

SUPERCARS PARADE

It was with great delight that we welcomed supercars from Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari that came on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively for the Supercar Parades. The crowd waited in anticipation as the roaring engines of the supercars echoed throughout Sentosa Cove as they pulled up into the display area at Sentosa Cove Village Promenade. The crowd was in awe of the beautiful shiny cars in various eye-catching colours as they took numerous photo mementos with the cars.

Thank you to Porsche Club Singapore, Lamborghini Club Singapore and Ferrari Owners Club Singapore for making this supercar display a success!

DEMO AREA

Over at the Demo Area which was located at the heart of the festival grounds, we have had a couple of other fringe activities that piqued the interest of the attendees.

RHIB Rides

Rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIB) rides were a draw for our Members and guests alike. Participants went on a tour to the Southern Islands before returning back to the marina. Through the 25-min short tour, riders got a sneak preview of what the full ride experience could be, and were treated to a short educational talk about the Southern Islands.

AquaBanas Dance Lounge

Seen in the middle of the festival grounds was a massive inflatable AquaBanas dance lounge. Festival-goers got to sit at the different spots of the lounge and chill out to drinks, beats and a great time. Many were even spotted dancing on the dance floor, with adults and kids alike!

SEABOB

The Sea Scooter from SEABOB was used in the production of the latest Avatar movie, and the attendees had the opportunity to try it out in the marina waters too. It was the ultimate driving pleasure as many were seen zipping around the waters and having a blast.

E-surfing

Another activity that caught the attention of everyone was seeing the staff from The Kinetic Option and WaveShark e-surfing around the marina. Also known as e-foiling, it is an electric surfboard that is powered by electricity and does not require waves for surfing.
